Howdy,

Looking for the mounting bracket for a 1967 gtx flip gas cap. I'll attempt to fab one when i have time, but for now I'll keep an eye out for an original. I just missed one for sale on this site.

Thanks.

Missed another. Super.

Still looking.

Thanks.

For my 1967 Plymouth Belvedere II Does anyone know where I can get the short piece of rubber gas line approx OD 1 1/2'' that attaches to the metal pipe coming from the gas tank to the gas filler attached to the quarter panel? Thanks Ray

Pretty sure my wtb post isn't a place to ask questions about your car rayhandloser.

And I'm looking for a used bracket, Rick. I have no interest in spending 100$usd for 15 cents in spamped steel.

Try megaparts

I considered trying to make that bracket in post 5.

NO way.

That bracket is far more complex that it appears. About 12 years ago I had some made out of billet aluminum that came out great , (they were solid rings not wavy like the original steel part) nobody was interested in trying to make them out of sheet metal. They cost me more than I wanted to spend, but at the time there were no reproductions. I was fortunate to sell the pieces I didn't keep to recoup a good deal of my investment.

That whole gas cap setup has been on the endangered species list for decades, very difficult to find, and even harder to find at a reasonable price. Jim Drain would be the person to contact, he has been into 67 GTX’s for decades, but he won’t be cheap either.

Megaparts has all the pieces available separately and when I needed that bracket and the thick secondary seal for my project, they had the best prices.

It ain't cheap, though but it was still less $$$ to piece together that flip top assembly that to buy one of the correct stock caps fr my wagon, or heaven forbid, the 66 "camouflaged emblem cap".

...and the flip cap is MUCH harder to steal.

I got all the pieces except the mounting bracket when i bought the car. I would love to get an original used piece, but right now can't justify the prices. I still might try and make one myself, but that may be a next winter task.

I'll take a look at the people you recommend though. Thanks guys.

When I got my 67 X it didn’t have any of the gas cap pieces. I found the bracket at Jim Drains swap spots and bought that, and the cap was the same as the 67 and 69 Barracuda, but the bezel was almost impossible to find. I was pitted next to a guy at The Nats and he said he had one at home, and for $30 I could have it, so I gave him my address and $30, not really expecting to get it from someone I did not know. But sure enough, 3 days later it showed up in the mail and my life was complete! There’s still hood people out there, and he was sure one of them.
