Does anyone know where I could send my front grill and trunk trim to get restored/re-chromed? Is there a company that does this?

I had Bill at Special T's Unlimited do a grill for my 65 Coronet and it was unbelievable how nice it turned out (not cheap though). Just Google Special T's Unlimited and you will find Bills phone number (great guy in my opinion).

I think 5.7 hemi from this site does some real nice work also but not sure how much work he takes on.

The front Grill any polisher can do. The rear Cast potmetal trunk panel is a entirely different animal. The trunk panel will be loaded with pits from gas expansion from white metal casting. The rear pot metal casting needs to be media blasted first with Walnuts. Then each and every pit has to be drilled and silver solider filled. once this is done the insert needs to go for a wash at plater in Cyanide! After you need to plate the piece in acid Copper and brought home and refill each pit that is under filled. Again clean it and rebath in copper Acid. This is a nightmare and expect hi failure rate. You will see new pits open up att his point. Again silver solder with rosebud and minimal heat. if all is good silver solder all edges and re copper again. From this point i took this unit to plater and nickle dip. it failed twice. Third time finally accepted Nickel and Chrome dip. Next is mark off each rib with 3m Vinyl tape and then apply 2 coats etch primer and 2 coats semi gloss black between ribs. Expectt o spend 3500.00 to 4500.00 if your not willing to do 1/2 the work. A real pain in the but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have pictures of a finshed unit here ask and i will send.

There is a place in San Diego called King of Trim that does that kind of work - never have used them and have not talked to anyone that has - but some of the shows on Velocity channel uses them - looks like they've got quite a set-up and that's all they do.
