I need to get stock metering rods for my '68 426 Hemi AFB carbs. The service manual lists them as...

16-341 for the front carb &

16-543 & 16-544 for the rear.

The problem with the Chrysler numbers is that carb companies don't know what those numbers mean.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Not surprising. Those are obviously old numbers and are not tied directly to the step diameters. I will look through my pile of hemi carbs and check the rods. I have two sets of totally original 66 carbs and it's possible they use the same rods as the 68. I can then mic the rods and get an answer. One thing to note is the OEM rods have a distinct step between the diameters and the Eddy rods have a taper. This may not make a hill of beans worth a difference. And I wouldn't get too hung up on the exact factory rods either because the fuel isn't what is was when the jetting was figured out originally. Float level will also be a factor as the specific gravity of the old gas is not the same as the swill we have now. Regarding the float level, we need to know what the original fuel level was supposed to be in the carb at that specific float setting and only then can we approach perfection.
