1968 Chrome Exhaust Tips...Hemi's only ??

Been looking into chrome exhaust tips for my 68' 383 RR (I have an earlier post)...I have heard that they only came on 68' HEMI RR's but not on the 383's...However, they did come on the 68' GTX's.

Is this true ??

Just trying to keep my RR as factory as possible.

No its not true. Your RR could have and likely had exhaust tips on it.

I had heard that the 68' GTX's did come with them, and only the 68' Road Runners with the décor pkg or Hemi's came with them

Aiming the sound waves down makes the car quieter than if it exits horizontal to the ground, it wasn't to do with emission control.
