Good Day All,

The stock Chrysler radio in my 69 Charger has an issue. The tuning thumbwheel turns but the tuning needle does not move...consistently. It slips per say. The preset buttons work perfect, sounds good, everything else is fine.

I am assuming there is some type of belt or cord in there that is slipping.

Any hints on how to fix?

Thanks

It is run by gears and the gear breaks. The grease dries out and things get hard to move.

Take the top cover off and move the tuning dial. There is a clutch wheel that will slip before breaking. I used white lithium grease on the two tracks that move front to back as well as the dial indicator track in the center. Been working great for years ever since.
