Looking for this hood. Mine has a massive hole in it. Doing a full resto of a 69 Coronet 500 Convertible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the flat hood is the same hood minus the scoops.

Thanks!

Its called a "Ramcharger" hood or sometimes referred to by the option number for that hood, N96. My information states the N96 option was NOT available from the factory for a 500 model, but maybe you are just wanting to add that and not concerned about originality. That's all good too.

Anyway, I do happen to have two original N96 hoods, both would need some work to be nice. But no flat hoods though.

69 Coronet 500 convertible original hood with original scoops that are not original to original hood. You don’t need a N96 hood. You only need an original hood that you can add scoops to if you wish. The bottom of the original hood has the same access holes as the N96 hoods have for fastening them from underneath. Correct statement above. The 69 Coronet 500 convertible did not originally come with scoops. But, it sure in the hell looks better. Than without. I like originality to a very large degree. Having said that, in a couple circumstances. Originality is not necessarily better in a couple of circumstances. Most restored Coronet 500’s have scoops installed. Understandably so, in my opinion.
A lot of people install these scoops on A body cars. In my opinion, they don’t look very good on A body cars. The scoops are too big, for the smaller A body hoods.

Depending upon what you can locate, you will probably find that it is cheaper to find a regular 69 Coronet hood and add the reproduction scoops and bezels. The attaching hardware is available as well. There is at least three different manufactures of these pieces, so you will have to shop around to determine which is best for you, if you go that route. Finding a factory N96 hood in good to excellent shape will be big dollars for most sellers/buyers.

Just wondering if you did sell one of the N96 hoods what would you want for it? Thanks. Jamie
