I am in the process of restoring my 1969 Coronet R/T. The car was used for drag racing in the '70s and was a wreck according to the previous owner, who also restored it with his brother in 1992. I bought it a few years ago and decided to fix the aftermarket quarter panels as the drivers side developed a stress crack on the door jamb. It was stripped down and the ugly truth of bondo and it magic are coming to light. I need a new deck lid, power bulge hood, and passenger side door (so far). I found a used deck lid, but i am looking for a few rust and dent free parts. The doors are made by the aftermarket company AMD, but no luck on the hood.
So, does anyone have a new door (preferably passenger side) and a power bulge hood for sale? I would prefer not to use aftermarket, but filling a bent to hell door back with plastic is not appealing to me. In he case of the doors. would you use original steel or aftermarket?
Thanks,
Mark

I have the AMD doors on my Roadrunner (same doors as yours). Lip was wrong to match the fenders up top which required grinding/filing to get right. Also had to drill 2/3 of the door skin spot welds on the passenger side to re-seat the skin correctly to match the quarter. Very very close to not being able to adjust the door properly with the limited amount of give with the floating nut plates in the AMD doors, but never the less, got it. Other than that they were good, but expect to do some work, or your body guy depending on who's going to be doing the sheetmetal/body work. Doing it over again, I would have just found a decent used OEM set.

I thought I just seen someone that had 2 power bulge hoods they were selling in the for sale section. I can't remember who/where. If I run into it again, i'll let you know.

Good luck.

pm sent with a possible lead.

I PMed a guy that had two poweer bulge hoods for sale last week. I have to look through my history for his screen name, but I think he was in Canada.

We decided to straighten the door as Laysons, Stephens Performance and MoPar City all had rusty donors. Took a few pictures of it on Saturday and will upload more every week if I can make it out to the shop. I am sending parts out to be anodized such as the rear tail light panel. Would the metal pieces surrounding the front head lights on the ends of the grille also be anodized?

IIRC the headlight bezels are zinc diecast and will need to go where any other pot metal pieces such as emblems go. I'm sure someone else will chime in on this.

The fenders were removed to paint the engine bay. The engine and transmission will be next to be removed and painted.

I take it you found another hood. Fenders look great also. Is your motor off to rebuild or is it ready to go?

It is the same hood and the motor is just getting a re-paint. The engine runs great as I had it dyno tuned last year and it made 400 HP. I hope to get a few more years out of it before it needs to be torn into and rebuilt. I had my engine bored and stroked on my 1971 Demon 340 a few years ago and do not want to repeat the process with my R/T so soon. One problem I have with the 440 is that it has oil blowing out the valve cover breather and it then gets on the valve cover and onto everything on the firewall. I took a picture of the firewall and the blow-by makes.

I work in Springdale not too far from you, Duda. I drive it to my work on Fridays during the summer months and I live in McCandless. There is a car show every Friday night in Wexford from 5/25 to 8/31. It would be great to see others from this site and in the area on Mopar night 8/24/13.
