Thinking of selling my 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. It is a 2 owner car(i got from original owner's daughter last summer). 440/auto console car. R4 red, black wing and black interior. One of- if not the most common color on a daytona(for a reason-it looks awesome). It is NOT numbers matching, but IS a date code correct 1969 dodge charger R/T engine and trans removed from a 69 R/T in 1998 with 99k miles on it. VIN was pretty close to the daytona's. Engine and trans completely rebuilt and installed during the restoration. All documented by original owner, who was an airline pilot and kept a log book of every thing he ever did to the car, along with a photo album, tons of receipts, and a couple of trophies. Also included are wing car event paraphenalia, such as Talladega in 2009.. 144000 very well documented miles. Bought brand new in Birmingham Alabama. It was wrecked 8 months after new, fixed, and kept that way until 1998 when it underwent a full resto and was repaired correctly and finished in 2000 at a cost over $22000. The car was never rusty, always in Alabama.
The car has it's fender tag, but not it's build sheet. I would consider it a very nice car. Not a 100 point show car ready to win 1st at the nats, but not a shoddy 80's repaint type car thats showing it's age. Its a good solid car. Runs and drives like it should. Attached are a couple pics and a short video of me driving igt around 60 mph on the highway. I have put 63 miles on it since I've owned it. I own some other chargers and a daytona clone, and ashamedly barely get this car out of my shop for fear of something happening to it. It deserves to go to shows, be cared for and driven. These cars value wise are all over the place. Being so rare and not for sale very often makes it hard to get a handle on what they are worth. It has never been to a BJ or Mecum auction. I know some guys are dead set on a #'s matching daytona and some just want to own one(I was in this group). That being said, I honestly feel like the car is worth $130-150k on a good day. They are 4 times as rare as superbirds, and even plain 440 4 barrel column shift superbirds always hover around the $100k mark. I have decided to ask $125k or best offer for the car. I would also entertain a nice 68-69 charger plus cash for the car. I realize not everyone is looking for a 6 figure car, but I do feel as time goes on, these will only increase in value. Don't hesitate to shoot me a PM. PLEASE serious inquiries only. Make me an offer-all I can say is no thanks.
