Final test drive tomorrow and hopefully pickup next week (see attached pic; how do I embed attached pics?)
A real R/T with the original engine. Had a frame-off at some point, paint is pristine, interior is mostly good but needs some work, along with the electrical. I imagine I will be spending a good deal of time on this forum over the next year as I buy and install parts to bring the car up to my standards.
According to the fender tag I have a:
===================================
WS23:
Dodge Coronet,Charger
Special, R/T
2 Door Hardtop
U0A: 440 375HP 1-4BBL 8 CYL
1970
Lynch Road, MI, USA
109628: Sequence number
E86: 440 cid 4 barrel V8 (High Performance) 375hp
D32: Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission
EF8: Dark Green Metallic (Dodge), Ivy Green Metallic (Plymouth) Exterior Color
D6F8: Trim - Luxury, Vinyl Bucket Seats, Green
EF8: Dark Green Metallic (Dodge), Ivy Green Metallic (Plymouth) Int. Door Frames
826: Build Date: August 26
065295: Order number
V1F: Full Vinyl Top, Green
N96: Fresh Air Hood
M46: Simulated ¼ Scoops
===================================
During the resto they repainted in a non-Mopar darker metallic green, and also did the vinyl and interior in full black. Fine with me, I think the combo looks great. I am told the 727 is still original per the internals but the case had to be replaced due to a crack. However, the engine block still has the matching VIN stamp so that's a big plus. Car has only been driven 2k miles since the resto so there is little wear. However, a lot of the electrical is screwed up (no blower, wipers) and a lot of the interior parts are in questionable shape so that's where my major focus will be.
I am not a huge fan of these wheels, to be honest. There is no spare with the car so that gives me an additional excuse to buy new wheels for my taste. I'm going to research period-correct wheels; I think I'll need 15s to fit over the restored front factory discs.
