Final test drive tomorrow and hopefully pickup next week (see attached pic; how do I embed attached pics?)

A real R/T with the original engine. Had a frame-off at some point, paint is pristine, interior is mostly good but needs some work, along with the electrical. I imagine I will be spending a good deal of time on this forum over the next year as I buy and install parts to bring the car up to my standards.

According to the fender tag I have a:

===================================
WS23:
Dodge Coronet,Charger
Special, R/T
2 Door Hardtop

U0A: 440 375HP 1-4BBL 8 CYL
1970
Lynch Road, MI, USA

109628: Sequence number

E86: 440 cid 4 barrel V8 (High Performance) 375hp
D32: Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission
EF8: Dark Green Metallic (Dodge), Ivy Green Metallic (Plymouth) Exterior Color
D6F8: Trim - Luxury, Vinyl Bucket Seats, Green
EF8: Dark Green Metallic (Dodge), Ivy Green Metallic (Plymouth) Int. Door Frames
826: Build Date: August 26
065295: Order number

V1F: Full Vinyl Top, Green
N96: Fresh Air Hood
M46: Simulated ¼ Scoops
===================================

During the resto they repainted in a non-Mopar darker metallic green, and also did the vinyl and interior in full black. Fine with me, I think the combo looks great. I am told the 727 is still original per the internals but the case had to be replaced due to a crack. However, the engine block still has the matching VIN stamp so that's a big plus. Car has only been driven 2k miles since the resto so there is little wear. However, a lot of the electrical is screwed up (no blower, wipers) and a lot of the interior parts are in questionable shape so that's where my major focus will be.

I am not a huge fan of these wheels, to be honest. There is no spare with the car so that gives me an additional excuse to buy new wheels for my taste. I'm going to research period-correct wheels; I think I'll need 15s to fit over the restored front factory discs.

That is one bad *** looking car. I love the 70 coronet and or Super Bee just an all out sinister looking ride. Looks like its waiting for a ticket just sitting there.

Yeah, the grill on the 70 Coronet just looks MEAN, and it's my favorite muscle-car grille along with the fuselage Plymouths. I've been waiting a while for a plausible local example of one of those two to show up.

Welcome.
Nice car, love those CoRoneTs.
Good choice on replacing wheels

Welcome from right down the street.

Awesome car. Welcome! I think a set of Magnum 500's would look awesome on that keeping the same front raked stance. Here's a car like yours with the original steelies with a HEMI.

A neat car that you do not see very often, even at the larger shows like Carlisle and The Nats. Congratulations!!!

Thanks for the wheel pics 91r/tFB, that will give me some food for thought this weekend. I think I might start a "build" thread with ongoing pictures and a to-do checklist. I also own a '68 GTO and people have threads like that at gtoforum. In this forum it looks like the correct place for such a thread would be the "Member's Projects & Restorations" section.

No problem man! 10
Minutes on google got me that! That’s exactly how I picked the wheels out for my Charger and tire size. Between this site and Google I found the right look I was looking for. Awesome looking car and by all means post more pictures !
:thumbsup:

Welcome, beautiful car. I really like Coronets. Had a 70 Bee in Copper metallic,. You have one of my faves, a 70 R/T in dark green, awesome.

Great car, love the color. I think a set of keystone classics would fit that car nicely.
