I have a 1970 Road Runner with a 383 I want to install a 426 Hemi. Can someone tell me how difficult and what needs to be changed on the car other than exhaust.
I've done that. Except into a Superbird. But no difference. I used the Shumacher mounts to keep from having to source a k-member/brackets and mounts. The Shumacher mounts worked perfect. If you have power brakes you might have to buy Hemi brackets. The are other small changes, alternator brackets, pulleys ect. But all little stuff. The Road runner is made for a Hemi. I'll find you a picture of when I got done. Good luck. It's fun.
I swapped a 440 Sixpack in one of my Chargers with a 426 Hemi with the Schumacher conversion mounts as well and was I able to retain the vacuum power brake booster with no mods required.
