Taking a chance. Anybody happen to have an extra drivers side window trim corner piece? Bought a piece online form a supposed restoration site but it isnt even close. Mine fell off (Or possible stolen, there is a tiny little dent where someone may have pryed it off)) and spending $200+ for a complete trim set for this one piece seems nutts. It is a 1970 Roadrunner (Hemi) with 36,000 original miles. Original trim, Original top.

Thanks

I'm thinking your "A" pillar molding should be installed higher on the post, should not be touching the lower windshield trim, just a thought.

That a-pillar piece could even be the wrong one if it can’t go up higher..I believe I still have some originals left..

Well ... As we all know ... Things from the factory we not always perfect .. BUT ... those trim pieces were never off the car.

Well ... all I do know is that the trim as never been off the car. I spent hours cleaning paint off it after the repaint 20 years ago(Where the tape job was not perfect). SO ... as we all know, quality control wasnt the best in 1970. Im going to a friends house and see what the trim on his rusty unrestored 70 RR looks like, and take some measurements. Then I'll pull mine out of the garage tomorrow and compare both sides. Maybe a whole new set of window trim isn't' a bad idea after all.

You are right nothing was perfect but that is amazing all those years no one noticed that trim piece never meeting the corner cap unless for some reason it has slid down recently… Hope you figure it out..

Whats even more amazing ... is that there was never a gap. "IF" this piece I just recieved is correct, then I wonder what vehicle the one I had on there was originally intended for. I wouldn't put it past them to have swapped out a piece from another model ... or got to the end of the line and realised there was an issue and actually cut a trim piece to fit. Gotta love these old cars. :)

Both sides are the same. I have several originals. The repops don't fit for crap. Send me an address and you can have one. By the looks of yours, even an original isn't doing to be long enough to make up the difference.

I think 6pktgo is correct. Your "a" pillar piece is down too far. Up a small bit and the splice will cover them both. Get me an address and I'll send you one.
