Hi all,

I have a 1971 GTX with factory front disc brakes. I am currently doing a conversion to Wilwood calipers / disc and hub setup. It does use the factory disc spindle - but I think I am losing my mind a bit because I cant remember if the factory setup had the caliper in the forward side of the spindle (toward the front of the car) or the rearward side.

The wilwood instructions make it look like the caliper should be on the side toward the back of the car, but I swear when I took them off that the caliper was on the front. Factory service manual seems to show it on the back too.

Can anyone straighten me out? :worry:

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure, but I know that my 72 charger factory disc brakes is exactly as you described with the calibers in a 'forward' position.

Thanks Skymynx. I found that the splash shields have a Right / Left marking on it that confirms my memory and your recollection that the calipers are mounted on the forward side of the spindle.
