Boy someone's going to be disappointed if they purchase these rear bumper brackets and expecting them to fit on their 1971 Plymouth RR/GTX/SAT.

1972 only folks. 1971 are one year only as well as 1972 one year only when we're talking about the rear bumper brackets for RR/GTX and SAT(2 door). The 72s use an addition bolt on bracket plus the main bracket have a different shape than the 71s.

You are correct. The sad part is when buyers don't do their homework and take the sellers word for it and/or when the seller THINKS they know what they're talking about when selling

a lot of sellers list parts for all 71-4 b bodies
when many of the parts are for one year only deals.
unless you know exactly what you are looking for
or do a lot of research
it is easy to buy the wrong part for these year b bodies as
they are listed wrong most of the time.

Correct flypaper!

If I'm not mistaking the license plate assembly is the same for both years (71-72). The license plate light is the same for 71-74.

Or when people are so stupid as to what they are looking at. I was interested in the real NOS one but when Itried to bid it already blew by what I wanted to spend...Anyway the one that sold for was nothing but a used one with three small hole drilled in the reverse lens to drain the water out which is very common to see on these lenses... Some of it is the buyers, Stupid people do stupid things...

Here are other fine examples. An eBay listing for 1971-74 Charger rear bumper brackets lol. Description says "removed from a 1973 Charger" and fits 1971-74 Chargers. Most of us know that 71-72 rear bumper brackets are different than 73-74 but here's the tricky twist about these listings. These are actually 1971-72 brackets even though they said that they were removed from a 73 Charger. Which could be true if the PO(s) switched them out as that is commonly done. Yes we know that the 71-72 rear bumper brackets are shallower in depth but a clear cut indicator of the 73-74 is the long rectangular notch within the bracket (see pic below).

So if a buyer is aware that 71-72 are different than 73-74 but reads this listing saying "removed from a 73 Charger" it would steer him/her away from buying them if he/she were actually looking for 71-72 rear bumper brackets in which they really are. Unless the potential buyer has first hand experience in how the 2 sets differ in looks w/o having to rely on doing research.

On the other hand if a potential buyer is actually looking for rear bumper brackets for his/her 71-72 Charger but doesn't know that they differ between 71-2 & 73-4, he/she would luck out that they would actually fit their 71-2 Charger.

Yea, I told this 'tard about the difference in his listings and he emailed me back "I'll correct it in the listing". Guess not. There was another listing for rear brackets, about 1-2 months ago, and the seller said they're for the same years (not sure if same seller but wont be surprised). Anyway, he told me that he's been selling parts for years and that I didn't know what I was talking about
