Call it a resto mod, not original drivetrain. This Charger started life as Topper Special, 318 car. The paint and body are laser straight and almost perfect, chrome is excellent, it has been a desert car it’s entire life, no rust whatsoever, never had any. The car can be driven anywhere, fly in to Phoenix and drive home. We love to do weekend road trips in this car going to out of town car shows and events.
Originally a 318/904/8 ¼, all being replaced with a 360 engine along with a 46RH overdrive automatic and an 8 ¾ rear end with 3.91 gears. The gears make it very snappy on the street, the overdrive trans cruises nicely on the highway. And for fun, the 2 ½” exhaust has electric exhaust cut-outs installed. Very much fun at cruises and car shows. Big Hellwig sway bars front and rear.
The original bench seat was replaced with the correct bucket seats. Dash, carpet, headliner interior panels all almost perfect. The car has custom Autometer gauges installed in the stock locations. Heat and A/C work perfectly. A/C has been converted to r134 and blows ice cold. Under dash radio with a nice amp in the trunk.
Have very much documentation from restoration in 2000, to the most recent service history.
