Just wanted to say, it's great to be part of "For B Bodies Only"!!!!! Looking for some input on an opportunity to purchase a B5 Blue 1972 Dodge Charger Rallye Clone. The Charger was orginally a slant six car B5 Blue with a Black canopy. It's still the same color with the Black Canopy but now is a 440/4 speed car with a bench seat. The car looks to be in excellent condition, no rust, leaks, suspension, motor or tranny issues. All lights and gauges work. Interior looks great, no cracks or tears. the engine compartment and trunk are well detailed down to the correct decals. So here's my question, what would be a fair price to offer for a 1972 Dodge Charger Rallye clone in very good to excellent condition? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

However I cheated and looked it up on craigslist :). Is this it? I happened to remember that one because I have addiction for looking up Mopars on craigslist. hahaha

Judging by the 2 pictures, it looks very nice and it has a manual but then again I only saw 2 pictures.

If it is in the condition you say it is and judging by the pictures it is, I would pay 20-25k for that car if I could afford it. But again, it has to be what you think its worth. I'm rebuilding my Roadrunner and would be ecstatic if I could keep it under 25k. It's very difficult to build one for less than that. I know its a "tribute" car but unless you are a stickler for VIN matching, I personally don't think it is that a big deal. Many others would probably disagree with me on that though.

Does the person have info and pictures on the body work? That would be my only reservation about spending that much and having to redo any body work. That is one of my favorite cars.

BTW welcome aboard!

Thanks Plymouthman72, I appreciate the input. I forgot to mention, It is a power steering car, but no A/C and drum brakes all the way around, so no power brakes. I've checked it out personally everything checks out, just trying to get a feel for what Mopar guys think it's worth. I'm pretty much a Challenger guy, but I really like this body style, so I may forgo the Challenger pursuit and pursue a 72 Charger. Thanks for the welcome, much appreciated.

This is a serious niche car. 68-70 Chargers are holding their value pretty well, but the 71-74s are not. I would value this car at about $12,000 tops. Expect to see it up for sale for a long time.

Low 20s, high teens if he's anxious to sell. Like Plymouthman said, you couldn't build it for that amount, unless you did it all yourself.

My '72 Satellite (pic in my signature) was built up to be a non-RR badged car. Total incl paint and every thing was close to $25 and it didn't have a 4-spd or look as good as the car in the pics. Good luck!

Finally pulled the trigger on the "72 Charger". Just bought it earlier this week and a good friend trailered it home for me. Been smiling ever since, it's now parked next to my 2010 Dodge Challenger RT Classic.

Congrats on your aquisition! If the drums are 11" Hemi, consider these. www.musclecarbrakes.com.

Then add either Classic Auto Air, or Vintage Air and enjoy. We need more pictures. MATS Vegas is coming up too.
