I have a 1978 vintage 400 B low deck engine for sale. Asking price is $500 or OBO. Located in Deland, FL, 32724
This is THE perfect Stroker candidate !!!
I got this engine and a few other Mopar Big and Small blocks, (which I will also be listing soon), as a payment for some work that I did for a friend. I do not know anything about the history behind it. I do know it turns over and does not have any tight spots during revolution. I would recommend a complete teardown and rebuild to make sure it is OK.
Or just say the heck with it, and build that big block Stroker engine you have been dreaming about for years.....
I have a very good reputation on FBBO and have been a member here for over 12 years.
The good:
This is a 1978 400 block. It has a casting date of April 4th, 1978. The block casting numbers are 4006530-400-6
It was most likely installed in a motorhome. It has the smaller 5/8 " spark plugs that were used on the motor home heads. This means the heads also have and improved water flow design cast into the head.
It still has the truck / van / motor home oil pan and motor mounts installed.
It also has the motor home style valve covers and harmonic balancer.
None of this will be needed though, if you build a Stroker engine.
The bad:
It is missing the intake and exhaust manifolds, and the water pump housing. No engine accessories other than the distributor are included.
This is the prime candidate for you to build a nasty big block low deck "stroker" engine.
You know you really want to.... ;)
No reasonable offer will be refused.
Thanks for the add Joey !
