Anyone know if this is something I should save for my
400 BB.?? Four barrel intake off of a 1968 383 motor in a pick-up.
# 3830949 E. Date? 31 10 77

Pic wouldn't upload. It is in good condition.

What's the part #? Some of them were pretty decent....just heavy. You building a stock looking engine? I used one from a 69 (iirc) road runner on a 400 and it ran pretty decent with headers and a small cam.

If 31-10-77 is the correct casting date this should be a spread bore intake off a 400.

Planning on daily driver 72 sebring 400 auto /30 over /9.25:1/ 600cfm holley/ cam
Is comparable to 72 RR HP 400, comp cam. I was planning on a wieand 8008. But if this free
3830949 is as good or close i'll save $200

Yes 400 block. Manifold has one elongated hole for primaries and one for secondaries, dual plane. Anyone know how this would compare with a wieand 8008?

Yes 400 block. Manifold has one hole no separation. Anyone know how this would compare with a weiand 8008?
That part number is for a 75-76 400 4bbl....not so great iirc.

Well I will just stick with plans for a weiand 8008 action plus. That is one part
I haven't purchased yet.

Thanky' Cranky!

The stock intakes are not bad at all! And if that's a TQ intake probably all the better.

I have two Weiand 8008 intakes here, one on the car, very happy with it, the other is on the shelf, not sure which car it will go on

Pretty sure it's a spread bore intake and with a TQ on it, they do work pretty decent but not as good as the older ones that came on the 383 Magnum and Super Commando? is what I've always heard but I've never done a side by side test.

the 68-70 stock 383 intakes are better than the 66-67 ones...larger openings and they flow better

Thanks guys, i'll just throw it on the shelf and stick with my plans of 8008 wieand action plus.

yer gonna need to modify the cable mounting bracket for the gas cable....it will need to be cut and re-welded to lengthen it a bit....I can get you a picture if ya need.....

That would be great A383wing.

OK...are you in a hurry for this? I can get a pic tomorrow....send me a PM with yer email address so I can send pic....it's a fairly large picture, too big to post here for clarity
