Has anyone here recently purchased the 383 > 496 stroker kit from 440 Source? Thoughts on it? Looking at going down the 383 route vs 440’s.

Post assembly performance, particularly on the drag strip was as expected?

Build several of them. Never had a problem with it. You need to grind the cylinders for sure because of clearance issues with the rod bolts.
Usually you need to grind the boss for the oil pick up tube as well

They run good, smaller bore than a 400 block, but there are more 383's out there.

I haven't verified, but someone said there is a shortage of main bearings, and they are really pricy, like $150-$250 set?
At least the 4.25" stroker cranks take GM rod bearings.

I have a 496 stroker built with the 440 Source kit and love it! Lights the tires through 2nd. I haven't had it on the strip but it is a blast around town.

In a perfect world it’s an aluminum aftermarket block but I’m poor as sh*t!
Spend a small amount of time (you have that) and a find a 400 block. Do a little research and you will find out why. They are out there. I've bought a few for around $200 each. It will be the best money you spend on your build. By a long shot.

The 440 Source kit comes with bearings. But I haven't had a problem finding main bearings on ebay. And I've never paid more than $110. I do prefer the Chevy rod bearings because it's easy to find exactly what you want cheap.

When I googled the bearing issue, Google shows that it was posted on 440 Source Facebook page, quote: "Every Mopar rod and main bearing part number is out of stock at every warehouse in the country, including Summit and Jegs."
The post now says it was deleted, so it might have been spam?, but the prices on the 440 web site are pricy. When I looked at Summit, none listed for stock journal size?
I think the stroker price increased, now $2,999 base price? I haven't looked at prices since Covid.
Mr. Seeman, how did the cam bearing modifications work out?

Yes 440source is pricy these days. Remember 2399 shipped a few years back.
But these are the times now...unfortunatly
