I have not even finished the 383 RR and I am onto the next thing. I am looking at a 1968 426 project. A friend of mine has a ton of mopar stuff and we are again talking prices for a motor. For around 6 grand(hopefully a little less) I can get a good block, all the parts I am going to list are probably not original to the block, but date correct hemi components and all good: main caps, oil pan, pick up tube, rods, cam and lifters, rockers, heads, intake single plane 4 barrel, valve covers, and spark plug tubes. He will throw in a 440 crank which he says will work fine, otherwise I will need to find the correct one. I will also need a harmonic balancer.

I had discussed earlier on here buying a 70 or 71 cuda to put it in, but I am now thinking about a 68 j code RR roller. I can get this for about 13.5 and at first glance looks pretty straight forward, but I am sure will need to at least have new quarters. I have always wanted a hemi and think this would be great, but I need to think about resale if that ever became necessary. I think putting it in a j code 68 RR woud return the most, but not sure. What say you about the price and putting it in a correct code RR rather than a Cuda? I do truely appreciate all of the feedback because there are alot of people here who know alot more than I. Thanks.

A 69 would probably bring more than a 68, but either should bring more than a Cuda with a Hemi transplanted in it.

Real car, with proper motor

Probably to some. If it's an early 69, then it would have a "68" motor in it anyway (as in cast in 68). To others it won't matter one iota. Me, when I'm ready to get a motor for Agent J, I'll take whatever I can find (including a crate). Cause personally I don't care. It's a "real" Hemi car, and for me personally that's all that matters
