Hi all, a question for all the specialists here :)

its on a 440 engine that is in a '74 Jensen Interceptor.

also, can anyone help me with the numbers on the ID pad?

it says, E440, 6 13 HP2 and there is also an A on.

casting date on block is '72

thanks

E440 is 1969, but with a '72 casting date,....??? HP is the magnum cam and larger AVS carb. believe 6 13 is build date.

Any chance of a pic of the casting date?

Not a Jensen specialist but a couple things to consider when there is conflicting info stamped on the block. Jensen was a small boutique manufacturer ordering limited quantities of engines from Chrysler during the 11 yrs of the Interceptor production. Even though the engine has the E440 Indicating yr model 69 its not unlikely that it has a later casting date. Either they had additional E440 engine blocks setting around that for QC reasons they could not put in new US models so they sold them to Jensen and stamped a later date on them or due to contractual agreements they continued to use the E440 HPA mold for the export block. The Jensen tag is most likely just a stock # from Jensen indicating that the motor was installed by them. Possibly rebuilt by them. Probably a replacement for the lack of VIN stamping on the block itself.
