I am looking for any and all information good or bad about 440 Source stroker kits. Are the parts from China? Who makes the rods, crank etc Thanks.

There are many cars here that run their stuff..Most of the cars at the track have their stroker kits...My buddy has a 472 in his 66 belvedere and has had no problems...BUT, the original owner sold out few years ago...The new owner has sold the dyno and most of the equipment..You are better off nowadays to just order a short block already done up for less than 4 grand. After buying the stroker kit and having all the machine work done you will be over the 4 grand mark..

crank and rods are chinese. i think the pistons are u.s.a. some people love their stuff, some don't. if you buy one of the 440source kits just have it checked by a good machinist.

i wouldnt put that stuff in my lawn mower.
id look at an eagle,scat,k1 before that junk.
i have eagle stuff in my 63 plymouth and a eagle crank in my hemi going 9.38 with no issues, just use good arp 2000 bolts. thats the weakest link inthe kit.

I got a lot of parts from them bolt on stuff not a stroker kit but other accessory's, if you do order from them make sure you explain your application to some one on the phone or they will happily send you the wrong part and only give you a minute to return it. lol They did give me a credit for a intermediate shaft since I changed my direction on cams.

I got my kit from CNC web site they put it together piece by piece eagle, diamond, total seal, H beam rods etc.. and was almost half the cost as 440source. I was going to use Mancini Racing but at the time the cranks were back ordered 2 months and I have no patients CNC had the parts in stock the last one if I remember lol.

Most of 440sources stuff works fine I have there stealth heads and they are doing fine so far. valve train pushrods etc.

Oh yeah like SSR said I too use ALL ARP bolts! a must to hold the beast's together

When I built my engine, I was calling all around for parts asking specific questions. 440 source just put me on hold!!!! I called back and asked about the brand of valves and springs in there heads,,,, they didn't know, or wouldn't say! I also told them the advertised price from the current issues of a mopar magazine, and they said they would not sell a set to me for that price!
I wouldn't give them a penny!!!!!!!!!!!!

the former owner called members on moparts fools, so if the new owner is anything like him... i guess that says it all.

Never used anything from them mainly because of all the bad PR I've heard about them over the course of many years.....

They are good & bad just like any other parts suppliers, they have "some" Chinese made & American made products, also Mexican, Canadian, European & Japanese too I'm sure, there are both some name brands & off the wall cheapo brands... As any engine build ask a bunch of questions about the parts, they have some good & some decent & some junk parts you need to research them thoroughly... I have used a few of their 3.95", 4.15", 4.25" Big Block B & RB stroker parts in the past, also a 4" SB stroker set up for a 318/390ci years ago now, with no issues what so ever, I also now a few engine builders that use some of their parts for the Mopar Muscle Magazine Engine Challenges with great success, I know a bunch of racers that swear by them also... I did have a bunch of issues with the early "Stealth" Aluminum Big Block Wedge Heads though, they supposedly fixed those issues now, I wouldn't suggest using them, but many people love them, so it's your choice of course.... I personally would Call Mancini Racing or Ray Barton Racing for some of the best & knowledgeable MOPAR engine builders & stroker parts available, maybe very slightly higher prices... 440source does have some quality, decent name brand U.S.A. made parts, at a discounted price, and some Chinese made stuff too, you just need to do your research before buying any parts, from any parts source, "any were, any time".... Most people that badmouth them have never used any of their parts ever, they were better than they are now "maybe", at one time, I don't know that for a fact, I didn't know they got sold either, it's been a couple of years since I purchased anything from them now, many parts are made in, machined in & assembled in "THE U.S.A.", Remember you can't believe every thing you read on the web, some people just have an negative agenda & will post lies or complete exaggerations... Remember just because you pay a premium price for parts, doesn't mean you get premium parts, sometimes it just the same part, marked up in price to pay for advertising, racing sponsorships or something else... Good luck with your stroker build....

the worst part of getting a mail order kit from any one is getting it shipped.I have got a few mail order kits from different company's and wen you get them the boxes are broke open or you can see were they have had a rough ride some I have sent back with out even opening them I have gotten cranks that was broke in shipping and heads with the surfus scratched up.other than that I think you will be OK..that's been my experience.as far as 440 source.I have got there 512 kit and have spun it 7500 a lot with no trouble.thats my 2cents worth.....................Artie
