Hey all, anyone have any idea what this may have came off? Been gathering dust for years. Has some welding on the back part of it but it doesn't look like the usual 6 pack air cleaner. Its heavy, thick steel, no part numbers visible.
No, it's for a 1970 Challenger T/A 340 Six Pack or 'Cuda AAR (Six Barrel for Plymouth) I had one of these several years ago. The weld in patch has blocked off or removed the other half of the rear opening that is normally covered with a separate plate. These plates were taken off during winter months to allow for warm under hood air to enter the carbs.
No it's not for a Shaker. The Shaker base plates have studs that secure the outer trim rim in place.

This is one for a Shaker set up. I went over to "Shaker Hood. com" and this is a photo of one of the parts they sell.

This base shown in the photo I posted fits both 340 and 440 six pack engines.

Here is the adapter ring photo from the same web site. This is what the studs on the base are for. I think there are 7 nuts that hold this adapter ring to the base.
