The half inch nut comes off the end and they should pop off. You have to lift them straight off the splined post, so it can be good to pull up on the arm itself to make sure it doesn't get cocked sideways.
They do get siezed on so a block of wood against the body and a small prybar can pop them off. If not, don't go crazy- spray some penetrating oil and try again the next day.
