My 62 had the cardboard headliner, long gone. I'm attempting to convert to a cloth one. I bought a set of bows from Ebay and the cloth from Newstalga. Now I looking for some one that has done this conversion or at least replaced a cloth one to tell me how the bows attach to the roof. My 63 has a plate in front of the pocket but if that is the way the 62 is supposed to work the bows seem wrong. Did the 62 have holes in the pockets? That would make sense with the length of the bows I have. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
It looks to me like you are missing a piece of the puzzle. There are a couple of strips that attach to the upper roof rail that hold the bows and allow you to tuck in the headliner.
