65 Coronet heater box hook up

OK revised question. I have a 69 383 in a 65 Coronet and want to hook up the heater box. Which port is supply to the heater core and which is return. The PO has two water temp gauges installed...why?? I don't know..LOL.

The plug is the return from the top of heater core,the guage closest to the altenator is to the heater core bottom tube inlet.
