Putting a 383 in my 65 Coronet and looking for a 65 or 66-70 big block transmission. I have a 73 C body BB trans that I may could do some type of trade. located in Kentucky but may could travel to surrounding states. Pm with any help. Thanks.

Just the kick-down in 71 and later.....

A lot of 65 console shift tranny's utilized two cables - one for park and one for gear selection. Column shifters used an extra rod but basically the same setup. Passing gear was not "on demand" which meant you had to mash the pedal to the floor to get the tranny to drop down a gear unlike 67 and later which required a slight nudge to make the tranny downshift. And you'll never find an aftermarket floor shifter that will actually work with a two cable system. If you have a 65 tranny now picking the same year is your best bet for "plug and play" installation but later is better.
