Will the headers from a 69 b body with a 440 work on the 65? I have a good set of Hooker Headers that came off of a 69 RR and I want to use them on the Sat and I do not want to stick the motor down in there to see that they will not...

I dont have any help and my health is not well so doing things over and over is a little hard on me..

Thanks for any help.... If it matters the car was originaly a 383 4 speed car and still uses the factory mounts..

in 66 there was a k-member change, engine is in a different location then in 62-65.i changed the k-member in my 65 to a 70,now oil pans, headers and disk breaks are much cheaper and easy to get, mark

The car had a cheapo set of summit headers on it before.. i would have thought that the hookers would work..

if you want some pics, send me your email.motor mounts are easy to get also.my 65 has 2in. hooker super comps on it,mark

to my knowledge all hookers are chassis specific. tti's aren't with the exception of 1 7/8. there may be some dougs, doug thorley, hedmans that might interchange between chassis.

So no one can saw what and where they would hit at? I guess I will find out..

Do you need to do anything with the transmission crossmember?

the transmission/engine combo will move back about 1 1/2" so the tranny mount will need some changing. there may be tranny floor tunnel interference. i think it would be cheaper and easier to just buy the correct headers for the car.

hi,i turned the trany crossmember around and cut the front of the box out.everything lined up,no stress, finger tightened the bolts, then made then tight.some of the 62-65 headers and oil pans are costly, and moving the engine back 1 1/2 inches helps weight transfer on the street or track.car runs mid 7 sec.@93 mph in the 1/8 and drives straight .mark

Header issue solved.. These came off of a 64 with a 440.... Yea...
