For sale is a Dana 60 rear axle, drum to drum, from a 1967 Plymouth GTX. It is equipped with a 3.54 to 1 gear ratio (46 to 13 teeth), 11" x 2.5" heavy duty drum brakes, and a traction lock clutch type differential. These were the heavy duty axle used in the 440 magnum, 440 six pack, and 426 Hemi cars with the four speed transmission. If you are tired of the 8 3/4" dropping out on you all of the time at the strip this is the axle to install.

Prior to disassembly and cleaning this unit was checked for traction lock break away torque to ensure the clutch function still met factory specs. This unit then drained, and disassembled. The housing was cleaned inside and out. The axle bearings were removed and new "green" axle bearings and inner seals were installed. The gears were inspected for proper wear pattern and there was no discernible wear. Then new backing plate steel gaskets, new inner axle to backing plate gaskets, new wheel cylinders and gaskets, and new brake lines were installed. The differential cover has a new gasket and the differential cover is aluminum. This unit is ready to install and needs only to have your emergency brake cables installed, the brake line connected to the Y block, and the brakes properly bled.

There is a crack in the tab that folds over the brake line on the right rear. Also, the aluminum cover appears to have been partially grit blasted at one time and it has some overspray on it. This was already done when I pulled the axle so I left it as is. It can be removed and polished out. For more photos you may visit eBay.
