I've pulled out and tore down my gauge cluster at least three times now and that's a pain, as anyone that has done it knows. The speedo was erratic, the fuel gauge was inaccurate, temp gauge did nothing and the dash lights didn't work. In total, I've had three clusters to try to get one decent one to work. Here's what I've already done:

Replaced the speedo cable ( that just made the reading more wild...then the speedo broke)

Replaced it with another and discovered that the odometer didn't move.

I got the fuel gauge to work by replacing the circuit board with the electronic "voltage limiter" from Charger Specialties.

Still no life out of any of the temp gauges, and I did change the sending sensor.

I need professional help starting with the speedo. Does anyone know anyone to repair these, or has a known "good" one to sell?

Performancecargraphics.com. Looks like nice work...a little pricey, but then again so are they all.

Dash lights could be the headlight switch. That is what powers the fuse for the insturment lights. I found that to be the problem on a 67 Coronet. Are you working on a Plymouth or Dodge? I have a few 67 Plymouth speedometers. They are easy to test when out of the car. I am also looking for a 67 Dodge speedometer in good condition.

Here is a picture working .

Are you working on a 66 or 67 dash? They are quite different but do work similarly. If you are in fact working on a 66, then you might try the change of the headlight switch, and then replace the printed circuit boards on the back of the instrument cluster and then check that the prongs for the wiring harness is in good condition. I have most 66 dash and instrument pieces if that is in fact what you have. Otherwise the 67 stuff will have to be sources elsewhere. Finall on the speedo. As I said I have a couple of extras and the next area to check is the speedo gear that is attached to your transmission. It could be out of whack and set to the wrong ratio or just old and worn out. I replaced mine when my 727 was rebuilt and it is still off by 5 mph on its readings. That was with 14 inch rims and tires and now I am running 15's. Seems to be spot on but I still need to shake it down some more to make sure. PM me if need be on the parts and any assistance I can help with...cr8crshr/Tuck:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

You're not too far from me, and you still have it out, I'd be happy to bench test everything.

PM me if you'd like.

It's been in and out soo often, I'm considering using wing nuts

where are you?

I've done the circuit board. The speedo works now, but the odometer does not. I'm getting nothing from the temp gauge. The headlight switch has also been changed

How is the 67 dash different??
I've been playing with these for years and have always assumed that they were identical

Gauge locations are slightly different and the speedo is different. They will interchange in the dash but if you check out the FSM (Factory Service Manual) you will see the difference...cr8crshr/Tuck:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I've seen a 150 MPH speedo on a R/t...other than that I cant say that I'm aware of a difference. Please show me that I'm wrong

Do you still have extra 66 coronet speedo gauges?
