66-67 hood lip moldings

What are the differences between the 66 and 67 coronet hood lip moldings? Will a charger molding work on either?

They are a different shape. Charger is different also. They won’t match up to what’s on the fender.

Good luck getting it all to fit unless you change it all. The fender mouldings are the grille surrounds. The headlights are in a different distance from the fender on 66 to 67 coronets. Many obstacles to a parts mix and match.

67 is a peaked, somewhat triangular profile.

66 (and Charger) is a square profile.

Charger extends under the hood lip IIRC.


For some reason, the 66 does not fare as well in the wild.

I see many more 67 moldings available and on parts cars.

There are repros available for 66 in solid aluminum, but they are pricey.
