66 Belvedere II horn ring

Just bought me a 66 Belvedere II, 4 Dr. sedan, I need to know how to remove the horn ring. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hold steering wheel from turning, then rotate horn ring slightly. Can't remember if it's clockwise or ccw.

push in ever so slightly and give it a sharp 1/10 to 1/8 of a turn.

On my 66 Satellite you push in at the 7 o'clock position on the outer ring then twist the whole ring, can't remember left or right but it will only go one way.
