66 belvedere lower dash chrome different from 67 satellite chrome?

Wondering if there is sopose to be a difference between 66 belvedere lower dash chrome that travels the distance of the dash and wraps up & over the steering column? My 66 chrome was pretty pitted and rusted but had some from my 67 satellite. ....seems as if the lower sections are shorter for the 67. They fall short of meeting the piece that goes up & over the column by about 3/4". Anyone else run into that?

Steering column is smaller in diameter on 66.

67 was first "safety column".

That means the dash is different and the trim.
