Selling a very nice Prostreet Cornet that drives like a dream for $16,500. This was professionally built in Florida (with over $32,000 in receipts) and I have enjoyed it for a few years now. You can cruise it all day long and take it to the drags all night. THE BODY IS NOT PERFECT OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE $35,000! Here are all the details:
Motor - Professionally built Hensley Performance LA 408 bored and stroked with dyno sheets. Edelbrock Heads, Eagle Rods, Steel Crank, Crane Cam and Roller Rockers, MSD 7 box, MSD distributor, ceramic headers with electric cut-outs and Tube Technologies Performance Exhaust, Powermaster Alternator, Griffin Aluminum radiator... nothing but the best in this build. Has a 150 NOS kit, but have never used it. My time in drags is the local "stop light drags" at our old airport. It is an arm drop start and about 1/8 mile. My buddy clocks a 10.44 quarter mile and we run neck-and-neck.
Transmission - A&A heavy duty 727 with a 3600 Stall. Internals include a heavy duty roller sprag, reverse throttle body, Rigid bands, tuned band levers, four pinion conversion, deep pan and cooler.
Drive Train - This is what makes it a joy to drive. This car drives like a modern street car as a driver. When at the track it hooks like a monster and tracks straight as an arrow. Caltrac adjustable rear suspension wraps the Ford 9+ that is 4.11 geared and spooled. Stopping power is through Aeromotive 6 piston disc brakes all the way around. Has a line lock and a Cheetah reverse throttle body shifter and an RPM activated pneumatic shifter.
Body and interior - Full certified roll cage, Corbuea racing seats and mini-tubs so had the back seat, where my kids love to ride on cruise night. If I were to keep it I would clean up the wiring, seats and door panels. Stereo, head lights, turn signals, radio all work fine! The body looks great from 10 feet away. There was the typical B pillar and lower corner of the door rust. It was stopped and treated, but not patched and painted. All this means that eventually it will need rust repair and repainting.
