I’m installing the firewall insulation. I’m trying to figure out the correct orientation for the small piece left of the steering column. It also has a perforated cut out area, not sure if I leave it or not. Holding it against the wall there are several ways it could go.

I just looked on my 67 parts car. It goes directly behind the fresh air vent. The little rounded notch (top left corner of your insulation pic) goes around the edge of the speedometer cable where it comes through the firewall. If you rotate the insulation in your pic 180 degrees that would be how it goes. I'm guessing that perforated part is probably removed if you have a clutch pedal assembly.
