watching Mecum waiting for the NFL Draft to start, I just saw a Really Nice 67 R/T Coronet just sell for only $14K, I wouldn't have let it go that cheap...

One of these days I'm just gonna go there and steal a car dammit .. but I gotta clear my other cars out .. it's the old bird in the hand syndrome. I gotta give up these birds first so the wife sez but then I'd have no Mopars ... that is the paradox.

It seems to me...... that the Mecum auctions, the 1st & 2nd days you can get some killer buys, if they are a "no-reserve" cars, none of the "reserve" cars seem to be getting the money or selling...

Those auctions seem like a fun time .. I've talked to the wife about going out there and buying a car, driving it for a year, then selling and going and getting another 20K car. Many go across the block way cheaper than you can build them.

I met up with an old friend at a Mecum auction in MN a couple of years back. They're tons of fun even if we weren't bidding. It was part of a big show at the MN State fairgrounds, i guess thousands of cars of all makes, mostly 50's and early 60's, though there were some muscle cars there as well. Even saw a sweet vitamin C A12. I'll definitely be back to a Mecum auction.
