Anyone know if the upper part of the steering shaft from a 67-up steering column be used in a 66 column? Anything different with turn signal function or anything like that?

66's have a long 1-piece solid steering shaft and do not have the collapsible shaft like the 67-up. I am swapping over to a HDK rack setup and if possible would like to just use the upper part of the steering shaft from a 67 column so I can easily utilize a 3/4" D-D universal joint without welding on a coupler adapter.

you can use the 67 upper part with no problems

Whats the overall length of a 67 Coronet power steering steering shaft?

about 41 3/4 for p/s

It is my understanding that you can not use the 67 column in a 66 Dash
The 67 was the first year for a mandated collapsing column
The 67 is larger around due to this and will not fit the dash opening or the brace that holds the column to the bottom of the Dash

you can use the shaft but not the whole column
