Looking for some feedback on minor restore project.
Picked up a car (under tarp in backyard 10+yrs). 383 was changed out to 440 and rims are custom, the White vinyl top is MIA, other than that looks all original down to the glass and paint.
Planning on selling the car when I am done (gotta finish my challenger project someday). Have fender and build sheet with it.

Since engine is not original, thinking fine to modify things a bit.
Looking to go black vinyl top instead of original white. Should look better I think!

Also, the car has side moulding with white rubber inserts (matched the white vinyl top originally), was told cars did not come with this. Since this car is very unmolested could it have been a dealer installed deal? I am planing to remove it and fill the holes, just curious if anyone has seen this before added to a car.

So guess taking a Poll. If you were buying a car, you base it on looks or prefer closer to originality?

I have always believed they were a dealer add-on option. However, here is another '68 with the molding...

It's a dealer installed option! You could also get it at most a/p stores in thos days!It is a stick on might have a screw holding the end piece.

I've seen and used the stick on, but never knew it was a dealer installed option...did the dealer option use clips?
