Hi guys
I have a possible trade in the works for a 69 d200 with a 440 and 727 auto . I plan to put it into my 68 coronet which has the small block 318. Will the swap be pretty straight forward. Or will i run into a lot of issues trying to swap the bb into my coronet

You will run into a lot of small issues. Everything that connects to the engine is different on a BB car than on a SB car. Some of the stuff isn't too different, but it is all different. Wiring, hoses, cables, brackets, etc. Most of the parts that you need can be located but you'll need to spend time figuring it out and searching for the parts.

Yep, it will all fit because 440's were a factory option in '68 Coronets (R/T's anyway), but there are a bunch of differences as andyf pointed out. With enough money, it can be done reasonably easily, but it is not a "pull one motor/trans and drop the other one in" situation like a 340 or 360 small block would be.

Thanks guys. What do you think something like this would cost if i have the motor and trans already

A lot will depend on what parts you can use from the truck if in good condition.
Do not let loose of the truck until the coronet is up and going, 69 / 68 things like engine harness, radiator, shroud, throttle cable , you may get to reuse quite a lot of the truck parts.
Speaking of the truck , 60s D series trucks are popular,
I know you have a 3/4 but lots of parts big and small off it will fit the 1/2 ton models.
So if you have a decent parts truck when done with your swap, part it out and recover some $

Thanks! As soon as i get the 440 rebuilt ill be running through the truck and seeing what can be transfered.

Not sure about the 69-71 trucks but the 72 up big block trucks have a rear sump oil pan and has a different dip stick/tube set up. Motor mount brackets will be a lot different for the car with the big block but those are easy to find.
