68 coronet fuel guage

Pulled the 68 out of storage today and the fuel guage isn't working. It worked when I put it away. I pulled the wire of the sending unit and cleaned it up, nothing. I'm getting 70 ohms on the sensor with about 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank. looks like 2.5 volts in the wire. When I turn the key the guage moves about half the width of the needle. Ideas?
