Guys, check those lower ball joints!

Just had both of mine replaced today. The roads here are so bad I always assumed the darting back and forth was that.

The right front was very loose and the left would be in another 10k miles.

Amazing what new ones with a good alignment did for the car. Glad I never ordered a new steering box.

Check your idler arm as well.

For anyone facing this, could be anything in the suspension and steering. We rebuilt the whole front suspension and steering on our '62 Dart. Everything was replaced including bushings, pitman and idler arsm, tie rod ends, and all ball joints. Once you get in there, it is not all that much to do it all. Steers like right out of the showroom.
