Hi, is there a way to dye all the parts of the dash without taking the dash off?

All the vinyl pieces come off by unbolting them, and the lowers are relatively easy, but taking off the dash pad is astonishingly hard unless you have the arms and hands of a small child, or anorexic girl.

Not to mention that the factory must have employed a highly trained team of sadistic, ex Nazis, to sharpen every area under the dash that your hands and arms need to be in to unbolt the pad.

However that all pales in comparison to how frustrating it is trying to get the bolts back on the blind studs when re-installing the pad.

Doable yes, but make sure no one is around to see you crying like a baby due to pain, or frustration, at least a couple times during the procedure.

Kidding aside, unless you are doing a full blown resto, just mask off the dash pad (after a thorough cleaning) and spray it in place.

Sure, masking tape and lots of paper.

Has anybody used Sem Sure Coat with a brush?

For more of a unified fluent flow, I would definitly recommend spraying vs. a brush. You can get all the little pal nuts out without too much hassle by removing your radio/faceplate, glove box liner/door, and intrument cluster. Heck of a lot easier if you have the dash out, but obvoiusly it seems your trying to avoid that.

As far as spraying/brushing with the pads installed........that will pretty much be a shake of the dice if it turns out decent or not. Overspray, masking lines, and forget trying to get a good coat on the top front leading edge of your upper dash pad as well as a few other tight cornered/off geometry areas.

SEM Plastic-Vinyl Dye/flexible finish in a can will work great for your application. Be sure to prep area properly.

Just my opinion....Your car...Your call.............................Good luck!
