69 Coronet R/T fan blades painted??

Coming home from the Nats I blew the original cam gear on my survivor R/T. Pulled it apart and am cleaning things and the fan blades show no signs of having been painted while the center hub is black. This is a California air condition car and am wondering if this was common to not have the blades painted?

I have a factory aluminum 7 blade clutch fan from a 67 Newort.
blades aren't painted
car bought new in Ft. Morgan CO

I had one when new ( '69 Coronet R/T)and it was unpainted.

I'd never paid much attention to the fan but have noticed plenty of steel ones at swap meets that are painted black (of course). The aluminum blades are good, only showing some staining and the center hub black looks pretty good too. I'm wondering if they were an A/C option requirement. Thanks for the feedback!
