Hey Guys, Could someone tell me the difference between 69 RR and 69 GTX Head light bezels if any? It seems that the only reproduction bezels that I can find are listed for the Road Runner only, I need them for my GTX. Thanks

Yes that is the only difference I'm aware of.

Hello.

It's more than the paint. I have a 69 GTX that I've owned for ages and am in the assembly stage of the restoration. The difference in the H.L. bezel is the Road Runner's has a wide lip on the inner end of it. The GTX is open in this area because of the grill difference. The good news is that you can turn a RR bezel into a GTX bezel, but not the other way. Actually I have a RR bezel that I need to modify for my car.

Hello Art Bee! That sounds like a wonder plan, yes, I could too benefit from seeing the difference in these as I am also deep into a 69 GTX, but also have a Satellite of the same year.

I was told This is from a `69 sport Satellite and it is for sale. Arrow straight, install as a very nice driver or really easy resto for show. PM me and Make me an offer.

Hi Art Bee, Any photo's you could send my way would be very helpful. I find it hard to believe that there isn't any supplier reproducing the 69 GTX bezels. Have you or anyone else had any experiance with the repro Road Runner bezels? I would like to get a little feedback as far as the quality. The repro's that have found on various websites seem to package the bezels with a RR grille, if I go that route I will need a buyer for the extra grille.

Hello again.

Detmatt1, the grill and bezels you posted are not from a GTX/Sport Satellite, but are from a Belvedere RR.

69 "GTX" and Donny ... here are pictures for comparison. The first picture shows the bezel that is used with the Sport Satellite/GTX grill

The second picture, is the Belvedere, Satellite and Road Runner bezel. Note the flange on the end that ends up on the inboard side when installed ... this is to fill in the large gap at the ends of the Grill. Mine bezels have been stripped of the anidozing and are ready to be polished, re-anodized and then taped off and painted. You will also notice that I have drawn a black line where I will cut off the un-needed material and smoothen out the the cut.

The third picture shows both bezels side by side with naturally the SS/GTX bezel on the left and the Belvedere, Satellite & RR on the left.

Since I have no idea how to post pictures with this reply I will just have to email them to you guys.

As long as we are on the subject of head light bezels, does anyone happen to have any paint code info for both the facial surface and the area in each light bulb opening? Is the darker paint on the grille the same as either of the paint colors on the bezel?
