69 RR Factory Tach and Electronic Ignition

I have a 69 RR with a factory square tach and harness. I am looking to upgrade to an electronic ignition. However, I understand that this conversion could be fatal to my tachometer. If so, what is the work-around? I'd like to keep both.

I have both and my tach works and has never been up graded , that being said My tach has never been very accurate . If you want one that works right you may need to go after market .

If I am not mistaken these guys sell you tach internals to work with more modern ignitions including MSD.

All you have to do is have your tach upgraded to the new style electronics. If you don't, it wont hurt anything but it will not read accurate. Dash-worx, Auto Instruments and I'm sure several more offer the service.
