Hi all,

A few weeks back I bought my dream car!
Just working through a few things and am hoping for some advice please.

Lowering the rear - I have bought the rear front spring hanger to lower it from stock to 1" lower which is all good. I also bought the rear shackle and was hoping for maybe another 1" lower but the shackle length is the same as already in there. Is there one that is shorter again?
The one I bought measures 95mm between centers. Was hoping it would be about 50mm. Wondering if there is one I can purchase off the shelf.
I am running 275 60 r15's on the back so dont want to go too low that it rubs.

Heater box - I found a old mice nest in the heater box! Cleaned it out and then the smell was released. Have tried hours of cleaning but it appears the heater box will need to come out.
Any recommendations on what seal kit or kits I will need to replace please once it is out? I plan to sand it and repaint it and am hoping for a quick turn around so I get to use it for summer.
I live down under so summer is nearly hear.

Detroit Muscle Technologies has a heater box seal kit.

1” lowering blocks would be the easiest way to drop the rear ride height. If you have a spring shop nearby in NZ you could have the springs de-arched.

Detroit Muscle Technologies for the seal kit. I'm not sure what shape your box is in, but the last couple I've removed and "restored" only needed a good cleaning, instead of sanding and paint. The last one I removed had a huge mouse nest, too. The pictures are from a '70 cuda, but sent for illustration purposes.

You won't find shacles any shorter than that. Go with the lowering blocks as previously suggested.
