Just started restoring a 69 B, it is a pistol grip 4 speed car with a 440 to make it move. Just got done tearing down the motor to the block. Will be posting pictures asap as I know I will be accosted if I don't. This will be the first full on frame off restoration I have ever done and I am stoked. Oh well I am sure I will have a ton of questions n such so get ready...
Welcome.
From the sounds of your first post you are an inexperienced Mopar person. Nothing wrong with this, everyone has to start somewhere.
Corrections:
1. A Mopar is a unibody and the body is not removed from a seperate frame so it is not referred to as a frame on resto.
2. 1969 Super Bees came with a choice of 4 engines 335 h.p. 383 as the standard engine unless it came with factory A/C then it got downgraded to a 330 h.p. engine. The optional 426 Hemi, and then mid year they created a new option package for a 440-6 engine. Unless the 5th digit in your V.I.N. is an M your car did not come with a 440.
3. The pistol grip shifter was not available unit the 1970 model year.
So, If you plan to "restore" the car in an OEM fashion these items will need to be replaced.
Many RRs and Bees that lost their original engines were replaced with the more powerful 440 as it was an easy swap. People swapped other parts over the last 40 years as well.
What I am saying here is that "restored" is not really the correct term from what it sounds like you are planning with these things. Nothing wrong with what you are doing.
My 69 440 six pack car is what I call a resto mod. It has been upgraded/modified to include factory A/C (not available on this engine from the factory) a 523 stroker engine, pistol grip shifter, to name a few of the changes.
Just wanting to correct some of the things you have indicated here.
Good luck on what you do.
