What finish would Chrysler have put on these parts originally, my car is mostly an unrestored original with some body parts replaced and new paint. I was going to use satin black unless someone say's otherwise. Thanks in advance for any help.

Satin black on the bumper brackets anyway but I'm thinking the tank should be natural. The only question would be clear coating it for rust prevention? Or maybe nothing at all, not really sure.

I did end up using the satin black on the rear bumper brackets, I thought it looked right. The new spectra fuel tank had a galvanized finish so I left that alone. Now all I need is the $700.00 dollars I was quoted for rechroming my original rear bumper. 44 years has definitely taken it's toll on it.

Nice car!

You bumper looks pretty decent. The big cost with rechroming a bumper isn't the chrome, it is the prep work. Your bumper looks just about perfect (no dents), so I would think you should be able to get away with about $400 for the bumper.

I used Tri-City Plating, and my bumpers (which were good cores too) came out great. $400 each. See my thread below, and scroll all the way to the bottom, post 220...

Thanks hsorman, I will do that. $400.00 sounds alot better than $700.00 to $750.00. Those quotes we from two local company's here in Erie Pa. Your bumpers turned out fantastic, if I could get mine done for around $400.00 and it turned out like yours I would be thrilled.
