I think if you center it on the underhood brace and measre where it lands on that pad on the fender, you will find that there's only one place it can go.
This has been true of every model I've had (70 Super Bee, 73 Challenger, 73 Duster, etc).
I can't believe SO MANY people put them in horribly wrong places.
I have fenders from two different cars ,a radiator support from another car and a hood from yet a different cat. The hood has the holes in it already. We discovered yesterday that the holes line up perfectly with the inner hole on the fender to radiator mount point so that is where the pin is going. I don't know if that is where it is supposed to be but that is where I am going to leave it. It seems too perfect a picture to mess with . This is obviously not a numbers matching rivet perfect build so I am good with it.
