After years of slamming the air grabber hood by previous owners. The hood skin has seperated from the hood frame. The skin puffs up at high speed and has cracked at the rear hood bulge near the call out insert. My question is: what is the rubber like caulk that Plymouth used to seal the hood skin to the hood frame? I have asked local body shops they all said they have no idea and to use anything from liquid nails to silicone gasket sealer. I want the stuff Ma Mopar used if possible. Does anyone know what it is and where can I gat it?

I would think that 3M panel adhesive would be the way to go.

Thanks shovelluv, that is eactly what I was wanting to know! Back in the early seventies when I owned my first 70 roadrunner, a friend at the Plymouth dealership told me there was a hood brace available for airgrabber hoods. He was a mechanic, and said he installed several to help with the extra wheight of the air gabber. It went between the hinges across the hood. Secured the the hood frame behind the air grabber. I have never found this brace. Been thinking of fabricating one. I dont slam the hood, but it is amazing how heavy that air grabber is.
