Has anyone ever had to replace the heater blower motor or wheel for their 71-74 B body ( mine is a 72 roadrunner). I am taking things out so I can weld new floor pans in and noticed my blower fan/wheel (looks like a hamster wheel) had several broken blades. I went to Autozone and found a 4 seasons wheel but the opening is to small and it rotates the wrong way. I didn't know if anyone has ever had an issue like this and if they had a place to go to replace it. I have checked year one/rock auto/classic industries to no avail. If anyone has an idea, I would be very grateful for your help.

Thanks!

I believe the wheel is the same on Dodge trucks up to 2000.
Find one in a yard and you should be fine.

to replace the blower motor the whole heater box must be removed.... but, its really not a bad/hard job.

4 bolts on the engine bay side, a couple air control cables (a vacuum line if you have a strato vent) a few screws and the fan electrical wires unplug from the top of the heater box where the resistor block is... oh yes the heater core hoses on the firewall side as the heater core is in the heater box. lol

Once the heater box is out, take the front cover off, then the heater core comes out (might as well flush it while its out) then the rest of the box comes apart... youll see how the fan motor comes out.

replace it or the fan itself, might as well clean it out cuz there will be crap in there. Then all back together it goes

Here is a 74 which is almost the same that I posted pix of on a fellow members wanted add (sale fell through so I still have it if you need more detailed pictures of it)

thanks for the tip on the dodge fan odzking, I will look that up. Kernal, I have everything out and notuced my motor did not have that seal around it. it's so old it's tough to the firewall, how important is that? thanks for the link to that post.
